Autopay

Autopay is a standing authorization that pulls rent from a tenant’s linked bank account or card on the same day each cycle, so neither side has to initiate the payment. For tenants it removes the chance of forgetting; for landlords it makes collections predictable.

Bank-based autopay usually runs over the ACH network, which settles in a few business days and can occasionally fail — for insufficient funds, for example — which is why a good system retries on a schedule rather than giving up. Autopay in Aptoria is planned.
