Copilot AI is software that drafts, suggests, and summarizes to accelerate a human who still executes every task. In property management, a copilot writes the late-rent message or summarizes an applicant file, but a person presses send. It contrasts with autopilot (autonomous) software, which executes tasks end-to-end within rules the owner sets.
Why it matters: copilots save minutes inside a task; autopilots remove the task. Much of what is marketed as 'AI property management' is really a copilot — genuinely useful, but it still leaves the doing to you.
Aptoria is built as an autopilot rather than a copilot: it does the routine, in-bounds work on its own and surfaces only what needs you. Where a copilot hands you a draft, an autopilot hands you a decision — approve or deny.

AI & autonomy
Autopilot (autonomous software)
Software that carries a task from start to finish on its own, within the rules and spending limits the owner sets, rather than merely drafting it for a human to run. It is the counterpart to copilot AI: a copilot suggests, an autopilot does, and asks only when an action falls outside its bounds.
AI & autonomy
Closed-loop execution
Software that owns a task from trigger to completion — detecting the event, deciding the response within preset rules, performing the action, and recording the outcome — rather than handling one step and handing the task back to a human.
AI & autonomy
Agentic software
Software that can take real actions toward a goal, deciding and executing steps on its own, rather than only answering questions or storing data.
AI & autonomy
Per-action autonomy
A model where the level of automation is set separately for each task — automate it, draft it for your review, or turn it off — instead of one master on/off switch. It is the on-ramp for building trust: turn on the actions you are comfortable with and widen from there.
