Verification gates money movement
Connect Stripe to accept rent
To collect rent, a landlord connects a Stripe account under Settings → Accept rent payments. Aptoria uses Stripe Express, so you complete a short hosted onboarding (business name, bank info, ID verification) and funds settle directly to your own bank account. The platform takes a small fee per transaction.
It helps to have a few things ready before you start, since the Stripe form is the most common place a new landlord stalls.
A government-issued ID (driver license or passport).
Your bank routing and account number.
Your SSN or EIN — sole-proprietor landlords use an SSN; an LLC or corporation uses an EIN.
A US business address (your home address is fine for sole proprietors).
Verification gates money movement
The agent cannot collect, refund, or move any money until Stripe onboarding is complete and your account is fully verified. Until then the rent ledger is read-only. The connected view shows three flags — charges enabled, payouts enabled, and details submitted — so you can see exactly where verification stands and continue onboarding if Stripe needs more.
Once your account is verified, rent that tenants pay settles to the bank account on your Stripe account. Payout timing follows Stripe's standard schedule for your account rather than a fixed number set by Aptoria, so the exact timing is what Stripe shows for your account.
Tenants link their own bank with Plaid, under Settings → Bank accounts, so rent can be pulled without re-entering card details each time — and so they can turn on autopay. That's a separate connection from your Stripe payout setup: Stripe is how you get paid, Plaid is how a tenant pays.
